Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide displaying high gH releasing potency and efficacy in vitro and vivo. Similar to GHRP-6, Ipamorelin relases gH from pituitary cells and stimulates gH release via the same GHRP-like receptors.
Ipamorelin has a molecular mass of 711.85 and molecular formula C38H49N9O5. Unlike GHRP-2 and GHRP-6, Ipamorelin did not release ACTH (acetylcholine) or cortisol levels in laboratory tests. The specificity of Ipamorelin makes in very intriguing for future clinical development and research. Also referred to as NNC 26-0161 is a short chain peptide containing only 5 amino acids and also has a longer half-life than similar compounds. This compound is a selective secretagogue of growth hormone and a ghrelin receptor agonist.
